3474 Corporal John Turner, born 1839; enlisted in the 62nd Foot, October 1853; promoted Corporal, 1862; discharged, May 1881, after 21 years and 98 days' service; his records show him in the defaulters book on sixty six occasions, being charged by Court Martial on two separate occasions.
