502004 Sapper Albert Edward Vale, 'was called up from the Reserve in August 1914, and was engaged on important duties at home until January 1918, when he proceeded to the East. After serving for a time in Egypt, where he was stationed at Alexandria and Cairo, he was sent into Palestine, and was there engaged on important duties at Jerusalem and Jericho. He was demobilised on his return home in June 1919.' (National Roll of the Great War) refers.
