Boatswain David Lawson, B.E.M., born Kirkcubbin, Co. Down, January 1879; served during the Second World War in the S.S. Melmore Head, on convoy duty in the North Atlantic; the Melmore Head was bombed by enemy aircraft and damaged, 26.2.1941, and subsequently torpedoed by U-225 and sunk in the North Atlantic, 28.12.1942.
