Werner #5bd, 1887-1904 2p Red and black postal card, a mint example of this rare variety that is not listed in Higgins & Gage, in its elements it is the same as the scarce card Werner #5bc (H&G #17) only it has a double frameline around the card, the outer frameline is only slightly larger than a normal single frameline card, the inner line is smaller than a normal frameline causing the stamp and the corner ornaments to be very close to it, very fine; there is one other card type with double frameline listed by Werner, both are extremely rare and unlisted in Higgins & Gage; this card is rated RRR by Werner with only two to five mint examples believed to exist.
