Auction: 160 - The Henry "Hap" Pattiz Collection of Nepal
Lot: 2238

Werner #1aP, 1887 2p Postal card, black die proof on European thin surfaced card, an attractive lightly typographed proof that at first glance appears lithographed but careful examination shows the telltale typographic spread, card measures 172x109mm, all of the elements correspond with the very first state of the postal card showing in particular the first state of the horse, in addition this appears to have been a working proof of the printer as a small extraneous extension to the top left ornament is circled in ink to be corrected on the die, very fine; this is a unique proof of the Nepal's First Postal Card mentioned by Werner in his Catalogue of Postal Stationery and a lovely exhibition piece; (H&G #1P).
