Hellrigl #36, a, 1917-30 1a (Pale) emerald error of color on native paper, imperforate, tete-beche pair setting 27, used vertical strip of three, positions 35, 43 and 51, the last being an inverted cliche making the bottom pair tete-beche, large to extra-large margins all around, clear fresh color on bright thin paper, neatly cancelled with full strike of Birganj telegraph cancel, very fine and choice; an exceedingly rare multiple; only 300-350 examples of this error are believed to exist, plus the fact that the typical very blurred state of the impression, identifiable tete-beche pairs in plated multiples are great rarities; 1980 Hellrigl certificate (Scott #23, a var; S.G. #26b, ba; £1,400+).
