#NL16, 1915 "G.R./MAFIA" handstamped on 1R Red, an especially handsome unused example of this rarity, beautifully centered, deep rich color on clean fresh paper, extremely fine; the accompanying certificate states that it is stained, however the staining has been subsequently removed without leaving a trace; according to Robert Gibbs in his book "G.R.I." only eight stamps were overprinted:1960 BPA certificate (S.G. #M8A; £14,000).
