#423, $1.00 Violet brown, remarkably well centered single tied by 1916 New York town duplex postmark on cover to New York City, blue merchant's oval handstamp at top left, cover with a few trivial ink smears which are not even noted on the certificate, otherwise very fine; #423 is one of the rarest Washington-Franklin stamps to find on a full cover, with only a handful known, this particular cover being one of the most desirable of that tiny number; clear 2005 PF certificate;
