Celtic, Atrebates and Regni, uninscribed coinage, (c.60-20 BC), gold Quarter Stater, 1.00g, 'Two Crescents' type, three parallel corded lines across central field with outward facing crescents in field, rev. horse right, bird? on back, floral sun below (ABC 629 var.; Bean QcD3-8; VA 250-1; S.45var.), obverse fairly worn, and with the surfaces a little rough, reverse well centred and with much of field design well evident, nearly very fine/good very fine, extremely rare

This intriguing reverse die, unlike the ABC plate coin, appears to have an animal perching on the back of the horse. The animal has a flared tail and is placing one foot on the horse's rump and the other on the mane. It also appears to be looking down behind the back of the horse.
