1849-1924 collection of St. Petersburg postal history housed in four albums contained in a carton, almost 450 covers and cards and a quantity of loose stamps, including 1849 entire letter to Riga with red oval d.s., 1850 entire letter to France with boxed St. Petersburg datestamp on reverse, 1854 and 1856 entire letters to France with St. Petersburg lozenge datestamp on reverse, postal stationery, Town Post Numerals, Sub Post Offices, registered, etc., chiefly fine and a most interesting lot. Also Literature with "1703-1914 From the history of the Saint Petersburg Post" by Dobin and Ratner and "St. Petersburg: The Imperial Post - its postmarks and other post markings 1765-1914" and supplement by Baillie and Peel, good condition, owner's notes
