1878 (1 June) envelope from Brisbane to England bearing 4d. and 6d. (defective) sharing "brisbane/registered" oval datestamp, 1891 (15 Oct.) envelope from Toowoomba to The Secretary of the Railway Commissioners at Brisbane bearing 2½d. pair cancelled oval-framed "R" handstamp, contrary to regulations, and with despatch c.d.s. alongside, 1892 (12 Oct.) envelope from Rockhampton to England bearing 2½d. only (no registration fee paid in stamps) cancelled by "473" duplex and with "R" in oval handstamp and London Registered oval d.s. (21.11) alongside, unusual in being accepted as being an item of registered mail in London though without any penalty surcharge, 1897 (27 Feb.) printed matter "Returns Only" letter from Brisbane addressed locally and bearing 1896 1d. cancelled by octagonal datestamp and with arrival c.d.s. (27.2) on reverse; a very rare example of the printed matter rate within Brisbane. Also 1896 (27 Oct.) front (some damage) with a 1d. paying the town rate within Rockhampton. These two items represent the only two items of mail found by the owner bearing this 1d. value used alone, 1904 (12 Sept.) envelope (226x103mm.) registered from Thursday Island to Tasmania, bearing 1897-1908 1d. (5) and 2d. all cancelled by "R" in oval and showing superb despatch c.d.s. at foot, the reverse with Brisbane (18.9) and Hobart (23.9) c.d.s.
