Note: The 100th Royal Canadian Regiment of Foot was raised in the Richmond Ont. district. The complement was 1027 men, many of whom were descendants of veterans of the 1812 war. Baron de Rottenburg was Adjutant-General of the Canadian Militia. This is the first occasion on which a regiment was raised in Canada for service abroad, in the Imperial interest. As a British unit, the regiment served on garrison duty in Gibraltar.
