1886 (10 June) double rate envelope (212x99mm.) registered to Washington, USA bearing 1883 8c. green tied by light 14 bar oval, in combination with Straits Settlements 1882 8c. orange and 10c. slate pair cancelled by Singapore c.d.s., showing Sandakan c.d.s. in red, small framed "r" with manuscript "Registered" in red ink below, Registered London d.s. in red (26.7) and, on reverse, Singapore (21.6), Liverpool (26.7), New York (6.8) and arrival (7.8) datestamps; some minor peripheral wear and recipient's notation in red at right below adhesives. A very rare combination and a wonderful exhibition item. Photo
