George III (1760-1820), third issue, Soho mint, third issue, proof pattern copper Halfpenny, 1799, georgius iii dei gratia rex laureate and draped bust right, wreath has eleven leaves with branching veins, tie ends have parallel striations, rev. inverted die axis, britannia. , Britannia seated left, holding olive branch, with trident and shield, date below, horizontal line on hull of ship, edge deeply grained in the centre (Peck 1235; S.3778), with both the small flaws on obverse and reverse that Peck mentions, two small spots on the reverse, otherwise extremely fine with lustre
