William III (1694-1702), Shilling, 1696, gvlielmvs. iii. dei. gra., first laureate and draped bust right, rev. inverted die axis, mag. br. fra. et.hib. rex., four crowned shields cruciform, five strings to Irish harp, arms of Orange Nassau in centre, edge diagonally milled (ESC 1078; MCE 848; S.3497), slightly uneven strike on a full flan, minor flecking both sides, an uncirculated coin with some light cabinet friction otherwise good extremely fine, some attractive pink and blue colour coming through the old grey toning
