In the Lockett catalogue it states 'ex Murdoch collection' for this coin, but this provenance relates to the previous lot 1891, another Shilling of 1549 but with m.m. grapple. This was Murdoch lot 492. Both coins were purchased at the Lockett sale for the Slaney collection, the Shilling with m.m. grapple was offered in part I, lot 19.
