1925 Imperial Airways Survey Flight - London to Cape Town
1925 (16 Nov.) envelope (271x210mm.) marked "By Air mail London to South Africa Nov. 16 1925. Per Alan Cobham and A.B. Elliott", from Sowden and Stobbart, London (complete with letter) to their partners in Pietermaritzburg, showing cachets of various hotels or signatures of Officials at the principal stopping points en route, signed by Cobham, Elliott and Emmott, and bearing 1913 1d. cancelled at Bloemfontein; the envelope with a few faults, as to be expected with an envelope of this size. A remarkable and unique cover carried on this epic flight. Photo
