1944 envelope registered from Alor Star to Singapore with original franking on reverse missing and with sealing tape and censor chop at left; upon arrival manuscript "Contains Cash, Retour, Due 30ts. applied in red ink as well as bi-lingual "contrary to regulations" h.s., on return to Alor Star MPU Postage Due 10c. strip of three overprinted "dai nippon" affixed and tied by Type D15 datestamp along with registration tied by Type Th.D10 datestamp (4.4).
