Air Mail Crash: 1935-54, selection of six, comprising 1935 (28.12) "City of Khartoum" from London to Penang (stamp floated off), 1938 (22 Nov.) "Calpurnia" to New Zealand (stamp floated off) with violet "received in damaged condition/ex flying boat calpurnia", 1939 (24 April) card from Perak to Durban and envelope from Kent to East London each with bilingual "flying boat correspondence damaged by seawater", 1954 (25 Dec.) envelope to Peru with "salvaged mail/aircraft crash/prestwick 25.12.54", and another (badly charred) to Canada with Ambulance envelope. Mixed condition as to be expected
