1859 (25 Dec.) entire letter to St. John, New Brunswick, marked "Via Southampton", bearing 6d. golden bronze with margins on two sides, in combination with 1854 1d. black and 4d. with pre-printing vertical paper crease, each cancelled "6", showing Albany despatch c.d.s. in opposite corner, red London Paid transit d.s. (9.2) with arrival datestamp (25.2) on reverse; the entire first bore 6d. but P.O. correctly rated it 11d. for ½oz. with red manuscript "5d" to pay and the 1d. and 4d. were added. The entire with vertical filing fold which runs along the left side of the 1d. A remarkable franking to a most unusual destination and a major exhibition showpiece. P.F. Certificate (1977).
