West India and Panama Telegraph Company receipt for £6.10.0 for a message from Lord Randolph Churchill to General Johnson, bearing Jamaica 1d. which has been signed over and endorsed on the reverse, "Charged as Government Message"; with a piece of letterhead from "Kings House Jamaica" with a copy of the original message, " ... Give following message to General Johnson from Lord Randolph Churchill. I have much pleasure in offering you the seat on the Governor General's Council to be vacated by General Wilson and I hope it may suit you to accept. General Wilson wishes to be relieved not later than the first week of March", the reply written on the reverse, "... Most Grateful to your Lordship but regret inability to accept post". An interesting and important historical document
