Sir Abe Bailey (1864-1940), diamond magnate and 'Randlord'. Imprisoned after the Jameson Raid, founded South African Townships, with Julius Jeppe, in Union Parliament 1915-24, created Baronet in 1919.
The company owned Mines at Luipard's Vlei, Witwatersrand.
