1897 (30 Mar.) envelope registered to France, bearing 1897 "2½d." (S.G. Type 12) on 3d. dull purple and green, "2½d." (S.G. Type 8) on 6d. dull purple and green and "2½d" (S.G. Type 8) on 1/- dull lilac (washed), each cancelled by Freetown c.d.s., showing "R" in oval, Freetown, Liverpool (16.4) and London (17.4) Registered d.s., all on face; the envelope with heavy creases, all clear of the adhesives though a rare franking, the 2½d. on 3d. being a scarce stamp with only one example represented in the setting of thirty, and very rare on cover.
