Envelope carried by Capt. S.S. Halse, posted originally at Portsmouth (28.9) with GB ½d. and addressed back to UK bearing Southern Rhodesia 1d. (2) tied by Salisbury d.s. (7.10 and 12.10), showing air race cachet front and back and signed by the pilot. Scarce. Photo

Note: Capt. Halse was leading the race up until Rhodesia where he landed in error in a ploughed field at Dombasawa near Salisbury and had to withdraw from the race.
