Anglo Saxon, Sceatta, 0.97g, Secondary phase, c.710-c.760, series N, type 41b, two facing figures wearing tunics, each holding long cross pommée on one side and also sharing a long cross pommée between them, groundline below, rev. crested monster left looking back, pellets surrounding (Abramson Th 5, Gp 52, Var 40, p.142; N.98 var.; S.806), some corrosion to obverse, light pitting to beast, this reverse particularly sharp and pleasing, nearly very fine/extremely fine
