Edward III (1327-77), Noble, 7.70g, Treaty period, 1361-69, king, crowned, standing facing in ship, holding sword and shield, double saltire stops and annulet at head of legend, curule x, rev. floriate cross with a leopard and crown in each angle, e at centre of cross, double saltire stops (Schneider 86; N.1232; S.1503), just light wear to the high points, a most pleasing piece with extensive lustre and on a good sized flan, die sinkers' guide marks visible on reverse and this a strong nearly extremely fine
