Archbishops of Canterbury, Aethelheard (793-805), Penny, 1.33g, Tribrach phase (struck during), 797/8-805, fifth issue, Coenwulf as overlord, Canterbury, +aedilheard ar around ep with contraction bar above, divided by beaded inner circle, pelleted initial cross, rev. +coenvvlf rex around uncial m with contraction bar above, divided by beaded inner circle, pelleted initial cross (Naismith C22.1; N.232; S.886A), a field find with light porosity under magnification, the slightest flan undulation evident but basically flat, this piece surviving remarkably well without chips or cracks and perfectly centred both sides, nearly extremely fine and rare
