Anglo Saxon, Sceatta, 0.95g, Secondary phase, c.710-c.760, series N, type 41b, two facing figures wearing tunics, each holding long cross pommée on one side and also sharing a long cross pommée between them, groundline below, rev. crested monster left looking back, pellets surrounding, tail an 's' shape (Abramson Th 5, Gp 52, Var 40, p.142; N.98 var.; S.806), a field find with areas of corrosion most notably by right figure and on beast's face, a dark tone and apparent surface porosity on this, a well-struck obverse showing some sharp detail, good very fine / nearly very fine
