Hutten-Czapski notes of these medals: 'donnée aussi en or aux Uhlans, qui s'étaient faits remarquer dans les escarmouches avec les confédérés de Bar.' Stanislaus Augustus formed a Royal Guard Regiment, the Royal Uhlans, which became the model for later Polish cavalry regiments.
