Richard III (1483-85), Halfpenny, 0.36g, London, m.m. sun and rose, crowned bust facing, small face ricard di [gra r]ex , rev. long cross with trefoil of pellets in each quarter (Stewartby p.450; Withers 1a; N.1688; S.2171), area of weakness to left of bust otherwise as struck for this, the regnal title of Richard clearly visible and a very good portrait, this flan a good size for the halfpenny enabling all letters of the reverse to be visible, seldom seen, good very fine and rare
