[d / is] / etra[m /] m[-o] in three lines, the first divided by depiction of Anglo-Saxon church or tower, trefoil before m-o (Blunt BNJ Vol.XLII, No 440; CTCE p.294; N.683; S.1100), fragmented with c.20% of coin remaining intact, good very fine, 0.61g, 'Church' type, York, Wyltsige, +aedls[tan rex], a trefoil of wedges after regnal title, cross pattée within inner circle and trefoil in field, rev. pylts[ige] in one line, depiction of Anglo-Saxon church or tower with ground line above, a chevron and annulet in field below (Blunt BNJ Vol.XLII, No 443; CTCE p.312; N.683; S.1100), fragmented with c.40% of coin remaining intact, good very fine (2)
The second piece in this lot is the only Church type penny struck by moneyer Wyltsige in both batches of the Eboracum hoard
