8503 Private James Rusk, M.M. served in the 2/7th Battalion Highland Light Infantry prior to the outbreak of the Great War; he served during the Great War with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders in the French theatre of War, from 1.10.1915; he was serving with the 3rd Battalion, attached 2nd Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders at time of winning his M.M.
