40138 Private James Brankin (1879-1955), was a member of the Oldham Division, St. John Ambulance Brigade, and served as an Orderly in the Hospital at Elandsfontain during the Boer War; he served with the Royal Army Medical Corps during the Great War on the Western Front from 18.7.1915.
