(x) New Zealand 1845-66, reverse dated 1863-1866 (3467. Jas. Gearing. 43rd. Lt. Inftry.), edge bruising and heavy contact marks, nearly very fine
3467 Corporal James Gearing, enlisted in the 43rd Light Infantry, February 1854; served with the Regiment in India during the Mutiny (entitled to a no-clasp medal), and as a Bugler in New Zealand from December 1863 to March 1866; promoted Corporal, October 1871; discharged, October 1876, after 21 years and 232 days with the Colours.
