#C3 var., 24c Carmine and rose, ""Grounded Plane"" variety, a wonderfully fresh example of this popular and rare variety, showing a very significant downward shift of the central vignette, with the wheels of the airplane well into ""CENTS"" inscription at bottom (a prerequisite to be classified as a true ""grounded plane"" variety), intense colors and impressions on bright paper, centered a bit to bottom but certainly not objectionably so (as so many are found), pristine o.g., n.h., fine; one of the very few never hinged examples that exists, as well as being one of the scant few to have been graded; 1990 and 2008 PF certificates (the latter graded Fine 70; unlis Estimate US$ 5,000-6,000
