#449, 2c Red rotary coil, Ty. I, perf. 10 horiz., a magnificent used single of this scarce and difficult coil, being the finest quality used example we have ever offered in our auctions, as this gem boasts physical characteristics that are just the opposite of what one normally encounters, including impeccable centering within the widest margins possible for a rotary press coil, gorgeous bright color on fresh paper, light duplex cancel that is mostly face-free, superb; the rarity of #449 with margins this large cannot be overemphasized, as of the 52 examples graded by the PSE, this is the only copy to receive a Jumbo designation; 2008 PSE certificate (XF-Superb 95 Jumbo; SMQ $2,300.00 for 95, the highest grade they price for this stamp); although one stamp grades a little higher (98), we doubt it displays the stunning features of this stamp.
