#74, 3c Scarlet, brilliant color and impression, without any of the surface mottling that affects a large percentage of existing examples, four neat pen-stroke cancels, attractive fine centering; this trial printing was never issued to the public and postally used examples are not known, virtually all "used" copies have this pen-stroke cancel, which was done by stamp dealer Carl F. Rothfuchs in 1893.
