#11L3a, Berford & Co.'s Express, New York, N.Y., 10c Violet, horizontal Tete-Beche Pair, used with 10c Violet (#11L3) vertical pair on cover addressed "For Lieut. Madison Rush, U.S. Ship 'St. Lawrence' Valparaiso", the address tying the vertical pair, both pairs with large margins, docketing on back "Recd. at Valparaiso, March 21st, 1852", wonderfully fresh and very fine.



This marvelous cover has graced some of the most important local and postal history collections of all time, including Accompanied by a 1999 PF certificate.
