"Saratoga Springs/N.Y./July 31" blue postmark on petite stampless cover overstriking a lovely oval red "Union Hall/Saratoga/Springs" hotel marking, ms. "5" rate marking, to New York, N.Y., very fine and exceptionally pretty; there is some question whether this hotel marking served a postal purpose whereby the hotel provided a service to the post office for its patrons.
