#408-09 vars., 1c Green and 2c Carmine, with "Kansas City" roulettes, blocks of four with plate numbers 6020 and 6464 respectively, brilliantly fresh, o.g., 1c l.h. in top pair, 2c n.h., well centered and very fine; these are a legitimate variety that was approved by the Post Office Department and sold over the counter at the Kansas City Post Office; each with "WW" handstamp on the back of one stamp, the 1c also initialed "ERW" and the 2c "MOC" on the same stamp, all are recognized as signatures of authenticity and accompanied by a 1922 notarized letter of authenticity by M.O. Canfield.
