Auction: 143 - The "Fordwater" Collection of Canada and B.N.A. Colonies
Lot: 48
#2, 1857 2d Scarlet vermilion, a very rare unused example of this sought-after value, with four ample to very large margins, intensely rich color and razor-sharp impression on bright paper, small part o.g., trivial light surface soiling and a vertical crease confined entirely in the large right margin which could be trimmed away leaving a more than ample margin, very fine appearance; this is only the second mint example we have had the pleasure of offering in our auctions and the fist that still retains a portion of its original gum; 2013 Greene Foundation certificate (Unitrade C$25,000.00).
