Yvert #5, 1895 Large "15" Sideways handstamped surcharge on 25c Black on rose, Majunga provisional, a gorgeous example of this rarity, having been surcharged on a stamp that did not have a manuscript surcharge washed off prior to surcharging, with luxuriant rich color and a sharp impression on fresh paper, lightly cancelled, very fine; only a tiny number of this rare provisional have survived, all of which are used; signed Bernichon, Calves and Roumet and accompanied by 2000 Roumet certificate (Scott #22C var.; $6,000.00+).
