#9X1, New York, N.Y., 5c Black Postmaster Provisional, signed ACM connected, horizontal pair, large margins around except just touching the frame line at bottom left, rich luxuriant color, cancelled by bold red "Paid" arcs and matching New York 10cts. Oct. 3 c.d.s., on 1846 folded letter to New Orleans, stamps and cover are exceptionally fresh, very fine.
