1916 (29 May) unstamped envelope (complete with letter) to London showing, on reverse, a fine strike of the C33 double-ring datestamp, the face panel completed for censorship and showing circular-framed "passed/d/censor" cachet; the flap with two tears clear of the datestamp and a little soiled. The contents, headed "Station Staff Office Amara, Mesopotamia", comment on the extreme heat and troops being stationed there for another 6 months after hostilities are over. An early date of use for this datestamp
