The following fifteen lots are all written by Rev. Alington, the first missionary on the Mekran Coast, to his brother Rev/ Alington at Spilsby, Lincolnshire. All have manuscript superscriptions indicating where the covers emanate from, nearly all being at Jask, and all are endorsed "Via Southampton". Prior to the opening of the post office at Jask, mail was picked up by authorised ships and taken to the post office at the next port of call and cancelled there

1873 (21 Apr.) envelope bearing 2a. orange and 4a. green with manuscript "Jask April 21st. 1873" and sharing a fair strike of the C5 "1" duplex, Bombay (2.5) datestamp below and arrival (5.6) d.s. on reverse; perimeter faults though a most unusual routing. Photo
