1847 (27 Jan.) entire letter from Baghdad "p Steamer via Ceylon" to Batavia and written inside as via Beirut, Alexandria and Bombay, disinfected with slits and showing fine "bombay/b.p.p./Paid." handstamp on face; small faults though an unusual item carried by the Dromedary Post which operated over the Syrian Desert from Baghdad to Beirut between 1843 and 1886.
