Blue bank check drawn on the Planters National Bank of Louisville, payable to "John Ranch / Ninety-Two Dollars."; endorsements on the back, and some light bleed through; spindle cancel at the centre, small spindle hole towards the left, otherwise very fine. The entries are in medium brown ink used by General Custer. Photo

A United States Army officer and cavalry commander in the American Civil War and the American Indian Wars, famous for his defeat at the Battle of Little Bighorn.
