Waterlow & Sons Ltd. artists essays in unaccepted designs, each comprising a piece of glazed card (76x112mm.) with Waterlow inscription at top and two different frame designs handpainted in deep blue, the vignettes being completed by proofs of the King's head and shoulders affixed and with portions around the portrait completed by hand.
