1919 (6 Aug.) envelope bearing ½a. and 1a. pair, and (29 Oct.) 1a. stationery card, both addressed to Switzerland, cancelled by "shwebo" double-ring d.s. (Type KD8; the latter the latest recorded date) and manuscript "Passed by Censor", initials and date. Photo for both
Note: This camp was originally created to house citizens of the Central Powers living in Burma, who however were sent into camps in India. After that, the camps was transformed to a recreation camp for Turkish officers in the Thayetmo camp. Later on, there was only one civilian left, a German called Patzert, married to a Burmese woman.
