1867 (1 Sept.) 3c. on 1a. brown cancelled "B/172" and tied by blue firm's chop on 1867 (7 Sept.) interesting Market Report and Shipping Intelligence from Singapore to Surabaya, marked "via Batavia" and showing, on reverse, "singapore/p.o." and arrival (17.9) datestamps in red; part of address etched away, otherwise in good condition. A rare early usage being seven days after issue and one of four recorded first issue covers to Netherlands East Indies. Photo
